June 19, 2018 – Day At The Wastewater Plant – Monticello, Indiana

June 19, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

The City of Monticello recently upgraded its Wastewater Treatment Plant to a full Bio-Nutrient Removal Facility utilizing Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal, Nitrification and Denitrification allowing for a total-Nitrogen reduction, reduced aeration power and costs, and reduced chemical consumption.

We will explore the process utilized, actual operating data, and results achieved since the facility went online in July of 2017.

This workshop will cover the operations involved with operating an aerobic digester, what to pump to the digester, how often to pump to the digester, how to supernate the digester, how to know when to pull from the digester to get the thickest possible sludge, and how to troubleshoot.

Specific discussion will be had on Filtration and UV Disinfection:

Aqua Disk system which utilizes cloth media technology for tertiary filtration — Basic filtration design criteria, operational modes, and components

Evoqua/ETS UV system which is a closed-chamber in-line medium pressure high intensity UV disinfection system — UV basics, components of the system, basic design criteria, operations and maintenance.
