Confined Space Entry; October 27, 2017; Decatur, IN

October 27, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

Information covered in this workshop will be:
Confined space readiness is the first step to almost any job water and wastewater facilities
face. Whether changing pumps, laying sewer lines, etc., the very first step is entering the
confined space in which it is housed. To maintain the safety and integrity of the water or
wastewater system, operators and others performing these tasks need proper training on the
step-by-step guides on getting in and out of confined spaces.
Every person involved in the confined space entry (entrant, attendant, and entry supervisor)
must be trained in the hazards associated with a confined space, signs and symptoms of
exposure, and the proper use of insemination — i.e. gas monitoring and forced air blowers,
among others.
This workshop will cover the following:
 Introduction, Objectives, History of OSHA Standards
 High Cost of Confined Space Deaths and Confined Space Standards
 Protective Systems and How To Use Them
 CSE Guidelines and Checklists
 On the Job Use and Rescues
