Job Title: Project Manager – Water Resources/Civil Engineering Location: Indianapolis, IN or Evansville, IN
Job Description: We are seeking a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent graduate with 3 – 6+ years of related work experience and a strong Water Resources/Hydrology project background to join either our growing Indianapolis, IN or Evansville, IN offices. This is a full-time position and provides an opportunity for personal and professional development as well as increasing levels of responsibility and career advancement. If mutually preferable, a part-time position can also be considered. This position is deemed critical to our continued growth and will afford the right individual an opportunity to manage projects of significant scale and to develop extremely important client relationships.
A list of principal job responsibilities includes: • Lead projects involving the planning, design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water systems, pump/lift stations, and water/wastewater treatment plants. • Manage various Team members to successful completion of assigned projects within budgetary and schedule constraints. • Attend and represent Powers Engineering at various meetings/interactions with client personnel • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and construction documentation. • Develop detailed hydraulic calculations and related hydraulic and hydrological models using a variety of modeling software. • Develop detailed technical reports/memoranda as well as supporting computations and analyses.
Preferred Qualifications: • Civil/Environmental BS degree from an ABET accredited college/university. • Advanced knowledge of municipal water, stormwater, and wastewater utility infrastructure and systems. • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Additional Required Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Prior experience with Hydrological and Hydraulic Modeling • Prior experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) • Basic proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software • Prior experience managing a diverse portfolio of design projects and client relationships from both the private and public sectors is a strong plus.
