The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is seeking an Environmental Manager 2 in the Field Inspection Section of the Drinking Water Branch in the Office of Water Quality at the Central Office in Indianapolis.
This position serves as an environmental manager responsible for coordinating managing, reviewing and organizing a variety of programs and program elements. The position provides technical expertise and guidance to public water supply systems. The position provides guidance to government officials, attorneys, and peers. The position will assist public water supply systems with compliance of applicable rules and Safe Drinking Water Act requirements. Position acts as a liaison to the program’s constituents including consulting engineering firms and local government, and coordinates with the interested federal and state agencies. Position will provide education and outreach assistance on compliance requirements, security issues, and proper operation and maintenance of the system. The position will research, interpret, develop new and improve existing guidance, policies, and methods, for use by staff, drinking water supply systems, and the public. The position serves as a resource for IDEM staff on issues relating to operation and maintenance of public water system treatment and distribution systems. The position performs work with considerable independence.
