Job Opening – Water & Wastewater Field Operations Supervisor – Columbus City Utilities



The Columbus City Utilities is seeking applications for Water and Wastewater Field Operations Supervisor.  The Supervisor is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance of all water and wastewater system field facilities operated by the Columbus Utilities.  The Supervisor exercises direct authority over all water and wastewater system functions and personnel; organizes and directs all daily operation and maintenance activities; and recommends work for inclusion in the department’s capital improvements program.

Must have a high degree of proficiency in practical water and wastewater system operation and maintenance, cross connection and backflow prevention, metering and hydrant repair programs, including supervisory experience.  Has experience in operational methods including maintenance management techniques and knowledge of general IOSHA safety regulations. Advanced education in related fields considered a plus.

Must obtain a valid Indiana Department of Environmental Management Drinking Water Branch DSL Water Distribution System Operator Certification, along with a valid IWEA Class IV Collection Systems Certification within 30 months of hire.  Additional IDEM certifications considered a plus.
