Electrical Engineer

Wessler Engineering is currently accepting resumes for an Electrical Engineer in their Indianapolis, IN Office.

Responsibilities include design for water and wastewater facilities.

Candidates must have 0-5 years experience in Electrical Engineering. Candidates should have a working knowledge of industrial power distribution, motor controls, equipment layout, lighting systems, and related activaties.

Candidates should have experience with AutoCAD, knowledge of the NEC and related codes is a must. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and have certification as an Engineering Intern. Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation systems is a plus. Candidates should be team oriented and have good communication skills.

Engineering Construction Manager - Greenwood

Primary Role: Responsible for supervision of Engineering Technicians, Inspectors, Consultants, and Contractors tasked with the delivery of water transmission and distribution infrastructure and related water construction projects and recurring capital investment projects in accordance with established technical standards, policies and procedures, and state and local regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities: Supervise direct reports, contractor and consultant forces to deliver assigned projects and recurring programs within established budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Strive to achieve delivery efficiencies through effective packaging/bundling of work and competitive procurement of goods and services working in conjunction with AW Supply Chain.

Develop and implement quality control plans for assigned projects and supervision of construction supervisors and field quality control personnel or organizations. For assigned projects having primary management by Project Delivery Managers, supervise direct reports to assist with pre-construction activities including constructability reviews, scope assessment, construction budgets, schedules and cash flow forecasts. Assist Project Managers with delivery of assigned construction projects within the limits of assigned Capital Investment Management (CIM) projects and programs to meet asset needs. Manages the procurement of contractor services/bidding process. Interacts with property group, technical services, governmental agencies to obtain permits, certification and approvals for assigned projects and programs.

Skills: Strong management skills (e.g., planning, organizing, directing and development of employees). Ability to interact with colleagues, direct reports, gorvernmental agencies, consultants, contractors and the general public with effective skills.
Project planning skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presentation, listening, report writing.
Strong interpersonal skills (tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation and ability to motivate others).
Computer literacy. Competent in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, flow-charting, project scheduling.
Financial analysis skill, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.

Knowledge: General knowledge of Engineering, Project Management and construction management practices related to planning, design construction and operations for water transmission and distribution infrastructure, engineering and utility economics and contract administration and construction technology.
Good working knowledge of regulatory developments, new technology and current trends in water quality, water treatment, developer services and other related water resource management disciplines. Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
Knowledge of company procedures, policies and operations.
Knowledge of employee relations, applicable safety and environmental regulations, federal and state water quality and design regulations and technical standards.

Education: Bachelor Degree - required
Professional Engineering (PE) License - preferred

Water Superintendent – Dupont

Job Description:

The Town of Brownsburg provides reliable and quality drinking water for over 8,000 municipal service connections in Indiana.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures proper system pressures and disinfectant residuals are maintained throughout the distribution systems. Ensures proper operation of all water supply and storage facilities at all times. • Responsible for compliance with all operating permits, including DPH, AQMD and others. • Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs for all water supply facilities in the District including well treatments and rehabilitations, reservoir cleaning and inspections, pump overhauls, electric motors, SCADA, pump efficiency tests, automatic control valves, motor control centers, gas engines, purification equipment, pump and chemical buildings and structures, fences and gates, lighting, landscaping, paving, testing and repair of production meters, etc. Works with the Assistant Superintendent to ensure proper implementation of maintenance programs.• Conducts treatment costs analysis and calculates chemical dosage rates to ensure treatment process optimization. • Analyzes groundwater levels and reports any significant variances to management. • Develops and maintains an effective employee relations plan; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel; assists Assistant Superintendent in resolving employee problems; and recommends disciplinary action for assigned staff. • Participates in selection of staff; ensures staff meets the required training relative to job responsibilities and annual minimum hourly training requirements • Regularly inspects direct reports work in progress and provides direction as needed • Ensures all water supply facilities, and operations and maintenance programs, comply with applicable Federal, State and local ordinances and regulations • Ensures proper “mix” of purchased water and groundwater is maintained in the District, according to rate case filings. • Reviews invoices for all purchased water, purchased power and pump taxes. Reports any anomalies to management.• Supervises the administration of contracts and inspection for water supply maintenance programs • Develops and oversees compliance with Operations & Maintenance budget and applicable Capital Budget items for area of control • Participates in capital budget planning, rate case planning and long-term planning. • Responds to water supply and water quality customer inquiries, both external and internal to the company • Communicates both orally and written, with local government officials, company management and staff, customers • Acts for the Assistant Town Manager as directed • Performs other duties as assigned • Works limited direction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Includes Technical Skills and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum of five years progressive water industry experience, of which at least four years includes significant, advanced experience in water supply and distribution activities. • Currently hold a WT3 Indiana Department of Environmental Management treatment plant operator certification, Indiana Department of Environmental Management DSL Water Distribution certification • currently hold a valid State of Indiana Drivers license • Ability to support complex projects. • Must possess demonstrated writing skills. • Ability to select and evaluate employees; develop and train employee and provide performance feedback • Familiar with basic PC applications. • Valid Indiana driver’s license. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Work Environment:  The primary work environment is in the field and at various water supply facilities. Incumbent may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
